Big day on the Homestead

Today started like any other day except for the single-digit temps we're having at the moment. Around noon I got a call from my daughter's 4 H program assistant saying they had an orphaned lamb that was about 5 days old. They asked if we'd be willing to take it in. I've never bottle-fed an animal in my life but I immediately said yes. 2 hours and a run to tractor supply later.... Meet Jimmy, a Katahdin sheep that now calls The Quirky Homestead home. Here's to day one of bottle-feeding a sheep and one more thing we can learn together on our homesteading journey.

Puppy Astro in the back doesn't understand why Jimmy can't play with him like the goats do.

Yes, that is a doggy diaper! It doesn't do well with pee (boy lamb) but it holds in all the poo!!
